Not only has the arrival of spring finally come but so has one of the most crucial times of the year in the fashion industry. This is a huge season for both American and European designers to show off their new spring and upcoming summer collections. With this is mind, most of you are probably wondering what you should be wearing to keep up with the current trends. After overlooking many style magazines and fashion blogs I have gathered all of the season’s hottest trends from the most well known and chic designers that a majority of America are familiar with. From Alexander McQueen, Marc Jacobs to Vera Wang please allow your new wardrobe to fall into their hands. If you’re a fan of color, PERFECT! Because this spring, the brightest and boldest colors are hitting the runway.
Let your imagination wander; throw on a pink blouse with black pants and a teal belt or try a deep purple mid length flowing dress with a bright yellow waist cinching belt. Now is the time to mix whatever color you prefer without a single drop of fear. Need help? see examples how to wear it here: http://www.harpersbazaar.com/fashion/fashion-tips/spring-2011-color-trends?click=pp#fbIndex1
Lace is also another trend you can embrace this spring, although many of you may be reluctant to even get near this feminine texture, don’t hold back because there are so many ways to wear it. Walk in to your favorite boutique and I can guarantee you will find the most divine dresses with lace sleeves or high wasted lace skirts. You can wear lace in palettes such as soft pink, white or black. For a sophisticated look pair it with a blazer with your preference of high wasted bottoms. On cold days give this blooming fabric some edge with a waist length leather jacket.
This next look is for those who enjoy baring their ankles and like mid calf hemlines. Designers such as Calvin Klein and Giorgio Armani adore this new lady-like dressing. This length is best worn when pairing both solid and patterned dresses with strappy sandals or thick heeled pumps. This hemline is not only for dresses though, if you’d like you can try it using full flowing skirts or loose pants, either way you have nothing to lose.
Then comes another look that is also tres chic on the runway: printed clothing; it’s something that will not only be new to your wardrobe but quite refreshing as well. Go ahead and give your clothing a jolt with an abstract pattern, whether it be a short sleeve blouse or a high neckline 70’s esque dress, go all out. However it is important that you allow yourself to only use one pattern at once, if you over do your outfit with more than one pattern then you lose that one strong print, you want to keep it on the minimal.
Now that the upper portion of your wardrobe is covered I would be crazy to end the article without the latest report on the most sensational shoes. One word: Flat. Don’t get confused though because you’re still going to be standing at least a few inches taller because this season’s new heels are called flatforms, these are seen in collections from Prada, Derek Lam and more. They may look scary and tall at first but go ahead and give these quirky new shoes a try! These will look great with any floral or crisp white summer dress, and If you find yourself getting chilly in these open shoes, spring is allowing you to throw on some tights or skinny jeans. On the other hand, if you’re afraid of heights, you may opt for some other kind of flats. Fortunately, for you many of our designers have included this in their spring and summer collections.
All in all most of this seasons collections have been designed for just about anyone, whether you’re daring and fearless to mix bold colors and crazy prints this is your time to shine. Or perhaps you’re more reserved and prefer to stay on the flirty feminine side by clinging to your lace and long hemlines; you’ve got it in the bag. So what are you ready for go and strut your stuff!
